About Me

Hi,

My name is Kim Hardie, though my friends call me Kimba, and I live in Carnarvon, Western Australia where I make my jewellery by hand in my home.As a child I was always playing with paper, cutting out shapes and making collages. I just loved the feel of it and the different shapes you could out using different parts of paper to create your own.

On my travels I have rambled through many markets and admired the handiwork of crafts people. I felt inspired to give jewellery making a try but a lot of handmade jewellery involved bead work and I instantly knew that wasn't quite the direction I wanted to go. For some reason, images of brightly coloured paper came into my mind and I knew that somehow I wanted to incorporate my love of paper into my jewellery. After exploring various techniques and materials, I finally found those that I enjoyed working with and resulted in a finished product that I was genuinely happy with. The results are what you see on this site.
